Have you heard about Johnny Sarangani a.k.a. the talking bangus? If you still haven’t, then you got to watch the above-featured funny and very entertaining video.

Johnny Sarangani is a Talking Bisayang Bangus who was caught trapped inside a fish pond in the North of the Metro. He wanted to go back to Sarangani – where he originally lives, together with his family. He later narrated how his life in the waters of Sarangani is far way better than the fishpond water where he is right now. To make the long story short, the kind reporter did help him escape with hilarious last words – “Sarangani Bay, here I come!“

This funny video is a great campaign that prime bangus is still found in Sarangani Bay – the Isday (Fish) place!

A new superhero has emerged with two purposes-Roboto San: Saving the World, Serving Your Appetite!

Imagine this: “The year is 2089 and Tokyo, Japan is under attack by alien robots. Nations unite and create the ultimate robot that can save the world. His name was - ROBOTO SAN.”

Everyone of us crave for something that would remind us of our childhood days. The same group who brought you SumoSam: Steaks Seafood Sushi, John and Yoko: Cosmopolitan Japanese, Marciano’s: Pizza Pasta Steaks, and Mr. Kurosawa Euro-Japanese brings you back to that era.

The Place

Roboto San Japanese Grill Buffet serves a wide variety of Asian dishes. Located at 2nd Floor, Crossroads, 32nd St., Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City, you’ll be fascinated as you step inside the restaurant.

They also have seats outside (I guess, this is the waiting area) covered with your favorite animated Asian superheroes:

Check out the detail of Roboto San’s interior. A very intricate design like that only Roboto San can pull off. Cool!

The Food

Here are some of the dishes I tried. My apologies, I wasn’t able to get all their names.

You can choose from a variety of deliciously marinated raw meat and seafood. Then cook it on the smokeless grill right at the center of your table.

Pizza and pasta are two Italian food favorites that have been integrated into the Filipino table fare. But unlike our Mediterranean friends, we like our pizza and pasta sweet and with a hint of spice.

3M Pizza has been well known for its ham and cheese pizza with a crispy thin crust that is smothered with sweet, home-style tomato sauce. For over 43 years now, this pizza has made millions of Filipino pizza lovers happy and satisfied. “We all practically grew up or grew old with it,” said Emmanuel Sun, one of the five co-owners of Three M Golden Pizza Corp.,

3M Pizza Pie was founded by Merle B. Hemedes in 1969 together with her three sisters. A regular pizza lover in New York, she thought of reinventing her pizzas by making a unique sauce that caters to the Filipino palate. To make her “pizza pie” more accessible, she put up a small kiosk outside the family’s toy shop business at Araneta Arcade in Quezon City. It became an instant hit since it was the first time Filipinos ever tasted pizza.

3M Pizza, now under new a management, returns to the market in 2006 with aggressive plans to re-establish itself as the leading quick-serve pizza, pasta and snacks in the country by reinventing the brand and upgrading its image. The new owners streamlined the operations and implemented a semi-automated production process. They also established an R&D team composed of culinary chefs and market analysts who helped the company develop new products and new unique Pinoy pizza line.

With a name that is as strong as ever, a recreated brand logo and store look, better and more exciting pizza and pasta offerings, and aggressive marketing efforts, 3M Pizza is taking the business to the next level—franchising.

With the help of a franchising consultant, the company is offering an exciting food business prospect to budding entrepreneurs that is easy to operate and learn yet profitable to own.

Since 1969, 3M Pizza is characterized by its pizza unique sweet and slightly spicy sauce that caters to the Filipino taste and with a thin crispy crust topped by ham and cheddar cheese. Since then, it has expanded to 7 more flavors—top-billed by best-seller Hawaiian Delight with pineapple and ham, garlic and cheese, Pepperoni Feast, Mushroomania, Gardener’s Delight, Beefy Meat Sauce, and 3M Pizza Supreme. All these toppings are offered in mini (7-inch diameter). Medium (10 inches) and mega (13 inches) sized. In addition, the company now also offers lasagna, spaghetti, 3M Pizza Roll and Cheesedog.

The company also plans to offer new toppings inspired by Filipino dishes, one of which is the spicy Bicol Express. The pasta line will also be expanded to include a new spaghetti sauce with hotdog, as well as baked Mac and “palabok.”

A prototype big store is also in the works that will offer meal packages that include crispy and spicy fried chicken, sago’t gulaman drink and even sweet dessert pizza concoctions.

For details and inquiries about franchise packages, visit their website 3mpizzapie.com.ph or call tel. 4128636 or email inquiries@3mpizzapie.com.ph.

I don’t know much about milk tea so I was thrilled to have my first taste at Figaro Coffee Company at Emerald Ave., Ortigas. Come April 11, 2012, Figaro will launch 2 additional items on their milk tea craze – the Honeydew Frost with Figaro Tea & Wintermelon Frost with Classic Tea.

Beverages

For Php100, you will have this very inviting colorful Honeydew Frost with Figaro Tea. What adds to the thrill are the red little popping bobba(s).tehee! It literally pops the moment it touches your mouth. sweet! Even if it’s in the line of Figaro’s milk tea, it doesn’t taste like one. It tastes like melon..and so I thought it was.:) One reason I’m going back to Figaro is for this.

For the same price of Php100, get this inviting Wintermelon Frost with Classic Tea. Let me honestly say that the first one tastes much more like a melon than this but I love its flavor (don’t get me wrong) because it has that candy feeling than a milk tea. And the popping bobba(s) are present too.

Dinner Meals

Since we got at Figaro Coffee Company at around 6PM, it’s perfect that we got served with their appetizing dinner meals.

Because chicken is my favorite and I dig barbecue sauce, this is definitely the ideal meal for me.yum! For Php150, get to experience the Pan-Seared Chicken Barbecue with Java Rice. The sweetness of the barbecue sauce really defined the whole dish. Plus, the side string beans are really oh so crunchy.

The next dish is the Crusted Dory Fillet in Creamy Pesto Sauce and Rice Pilaf. The fish is such a delight along with the pesto sauce. It was completed with sidings of mango and cucumber slices. Price: Php150

Cake

Everybody loved the Devil’s Mocha Cake. The richness of the chocolate is brutally tempting. One bite isn’t enough. I just had to take my fork and continue to have some more.

Pasta

This is the Pasta A La Carlo. Very rich in taste Cooked in olive oil, tuna flakes, onion, tomatoes, olives and capers. One of Figaro’s main dishes and has stayed and loved by the customers. Price: Php199

Breads

You wouldn’t know which is which until you break and taste it. Try Figaro’s Healthy Pandesal. With malunggay ingredient, you can choose what to order between Tuna-Filled Pandesal or Asado-Filled Pandesal. Available from 7AM-11AM only. Price: Php 99. Oh, before I forget, this comes with unlimited brewed coffee.

The Place:

Dining in at Elias by Crisostomo at Bonifacio High Street has been a wonderful experience. For 3 hours or so, I felt I traveled through time and went back to our dearly respected Dr. Jose Rizal’s novel “Noli Me Tangere”. The interior aesthetics, menu items, wall images and other details are well contrived to the Spanish era. Come, let’s dig in to what the restaurant has to offer.

The Food:

Appetizers

This is Bagumbayan Lechon Kawali. I think this is an off-the-menu appetizer. A very crispy and thinly sliced pork lechon strips with fish crackers paired with lechon sauce. Good for sharing.

Don’t confuse Mang Pablo to a person because it isn’t. It’s a special tapa placed in a banana leaf sided with sliced tomato and a cup of vinegar. yum!
